Stress

We all have elements of stress in our lives (mortgages, bills, deadlines at work etc.) and some people argue we need a little stress to keep us motivated, however it has the capacity to cause us real problems. If left untreated it can then escalate into something more severe such as depression. Primarily stress is brought on by how we think about a situation and then our body's reaction to that thought process. It therefore occurs when we feel unable to cope in a situation and some of the physiological symptoms will be similar to those of anxiety (palpitations, sweating etc.)

Sometimes coming across something unexpected or new can trigger stress and if we can't gain perspective on it or see a way though it is easy to feel overwhelmed. With stress it's important to address the factors causing the stress as purely and simply if you alleviate the causes you'll alleviate the symptoms. Talk to friends, colleagues, loved ones and even a professional if you feel things are starting to get on top of you. Remember dealing with it sooner may limit the impact it has on you.
