Areas I work with and reasons for seeking therapy
There are many reasons why people enter counselling. Below are some of the more common areas which I work with along with a brief description of how counselling/psychotherapy can support. Addiction - Focusing on the causes of the addictive behaviour and working to address these
Anxiety - Exploring the origin of the anxiety and looking at the thought process in the situations which cause anxiety
Bereavement/loss - Exploring the emotions and developing coping strategies to move through the difficult period.
Bipolar disorder - Focusing mainly on the depressive symptoms and building a support network
Depression - Working through the range of emotions experienced and looking at addressing the root causes
OCD - Exploring the factors which may sit behind this and working with the feelings having the condition induces
Relationship problems - We will explore the problems and help you to find a resolution which allows you to move forward
Self harm - Together exploring the issues which may be causing you to self harm
Stress - Exploring and addressing the causes of your stress and looking at other ways to respond to challenging situations
